Republic poly opens a student run restaurant
The Republic Polytechnic on Thursday opened a campus restaurant named Olivia costing $2 million, which is completely managed by the students. The restaurant has a dining area, bar, two private dining rooms to accommodate 100 people at a time.
Sources say that the restaurant serves western and fusion meals to the staff, public and the RP students. Customers at the restaurant are offered a three course meal costing at $9.50 each.

A similar restaurant is also run by the Temasek Polytechnic, named ‘Top Table, which is also completely managed by students. The restaurant had started functioning in the year 2007.
The students at the polytechnic are offered new courses and opportunities with reference to the scope the students have in future. The students also get an opportunity to gain work experience through internships in parks and hotels of international themes. These days the students are demanding more of the hospitality and tourism courses, as such courses have a good scope in the growing service sector.
