Lily Rabe Takes Her Leave to Mourn Mom Jill Clayburgh’s Passing



Broadway star Lily Rabe has taken a leave from the upcoming show The Merchant of Venice to mourn the loss of her mother, actress Jill Clayburgh. The actress is reportedly heartbroken following the unexpected death of her mom from lymphocytic leukemia yesterday at the age of 66.

The young actress was set open the new show on Broadway on November 7, but due to her mom’s death the opening will be pushed back at least a week to allow Rabe to mourn with her family. Rabe wowed audiences earlier this summer during the annual Shakespeare in the Parks series with her performance of the role of Portia.

At the young age of 27, Rabe is an acting veteran having appeared in the Broadway revivial of Steel Magnolias as well as the films Mona Lisa Smile and No Reservations.
