Mike Hatch's daughter Anne found dead in Chicago

The Cook County Medical Examiner's office said this afternoon that Anne Hatch, the 27-year-old daughter of former Minnesota Attorney General Mike Hatch, died of a suicide in Chicago.

She was found in her North Michigan Avenue condo late Sunday afternoon, and the Hatch family issued a public statement today, via WBBM radio:

"Our daughter, Anne, died unexpectedly yesterday in Chicago. This is a sad and painful time for our family. Nothing in life can prepare you for the loss of a child. We are grateful for the outpouring of support and compassion we have received from so many people. We ask that our family's privacy be respected at this very difficult time."

Anne Hatch and her sister, Elizabeth, made headlines in 2004 when they were thrown out of the Crobar nightclub by bouncers and then arrested after a confrontation with police.

During her arrest, Anne kicked out the window of a police cruiser, and both women were accused of battery, resisting arrest and damaging the cruiser. They claimed police used excessive force. The cops accused them of wanting special treatment because of their father's position.
A judge acquitted them in 2005.

Mike Hatch was AG from 1999 to 2007. He lost the 2006 governor's race to Tim Pawlenty.
